Don’t Forget Your Teeth!! #WordlessWednesday

DontForgetYourTeethWordlessWednesday

This hand drawn image of an upper denture greets me every time I visit the washroom at my parent’s place.  Drawn by my mother, it’s her way of telling my father not to forget his teeth when he goes down for breakfast in the morning.  Apparently, this has been a problem, and this was my mother’s way of solving that problem.  She tells me he often forgets to slip in his partial plate before he heads down to the dining room to eat.

I have laughed at this drawing many times over the last number of months and finally decided I needed to photograph it.  Before you ask…I got my mother’s consent.  My dad?  Shhhhhh…he doesn’t know it’s here, lol.

Brilliant! And mad drawing skills too. If I tried that my husband would spend each morning wondering what the heck it was – yeah I can’t draw.

Lol…I can’t draw either, Shayna. I wouldn’t even attempt to draw teeth 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

That’s awesome! I have to do something like that in my kids’ bathroom to remind them to BRUSH!

Hehehe!! That’s funny, Jenn! Does it work well? Hmmm…maybe I should be using this idea, lol. I’ll tell my mum you think she is brilliant – that will put a big smile on her face 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

I love it. Your mama is a smart lady. Visual cues are really smart ways to remind people of things they might forget. Plus she’s helping him to stay independent with a simple picture. I kind of love her even though I don’t know her.

Awww Paula, that’s so sweet! My mum will really love hearing that 🙂 I never thought of it that way, but you are so right! It’s a very smart thing she has done 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Jen! My mum is actually an artist. The teeth are “not bad” but her artistic talents are so much better. She has painted some amazing paintings over the year. Thanks for stopping by!

That… is… hilarious. I am sure my mom would have done the same thing for my dad if he were still alive. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage last month. Glad they have a sense of humour!

Awww 🙂 They sound just like my parents, Margarita 🙂 Wow..60 years! My parents are coming up on their 60th next year. Quite an amazing milestone! Sorry to hear your Dad did not get to celebrate his, but I bet your mom did in her own way 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
