Have you ever been to The National Women’s Show before? My first experience with this event was last October in Toronto. I arrived to find other women showing up with suitcases and carts, which had me a little confused. That is until I entered the show only to find hundreds of booths set up by merchants and businesses, and almost all of them were giving out coupons, samples, pens, bags, and other assorted promotional materials. In fact, I was given a large, reusable bag full of free goodies at the door even before I had even stepped into the show. You know how much I love my freebies!
This year I had the chance to experience The National Women’s Show in Ottawa at the downtown Ottawa Conference Centre. I attended the show with my friend, Lyne, from the Ottawa Mommy Club, and her mother.
We had a great time checking out all the booths, and we managed to fill our free reusable bags with all kinds of free goodies. My fave freebie? I loved the compact mirror and brush from Ottawa radio station Majic 100 (cute!), and the moose keychain from the Ontario Lottery Corporation. There were all kinds of delicious food samples being offered. I spotted the Kawartha Dairy Company booth and…well…even though it was only 11AM, I ran over and grabbed a little dish of their Death By Chocolate – *DROOL* I was told that one of their most popular ice crean flavours, Moose Tracks, is sold at Costco in Ottawa. Guess where I’m going next time I need (want) to buy ice cream?
Anyone recognize the logo in the picture on the right ^? It belongs to our friends from the Chicken Farmers Of Canada. They had a booth set up and were very busy running a little seminar and answering questions while we were there.
One of the highlights of our visit to The National Women’s Show was being able to meet up (for the second time!) with the great folks from CheeCha Puffs. They are one of my favourite Canadian companies (they are from Calgary). You won’t find a company more enthusiastic, or more interactive with their fans and customers, than CheeCha Puffs. Even though she was going nuts at their booth with requests for CheeCha Puffs, Tracey took the time to chat with Lyne and I and even join us for a photo. Be sure to say hello if you ever spot the CheeCha Puff family at an event near you!
Be sure to check out The National Women’s Show if you ever get the chance. They usually hold shows in both Spring and Fall in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Maybe one day they will come west!
Guess what? I was thinking of my House Mates while I was at The National Women’s Show. I requested a few extra freebies so I would have some to share with you! I’m giving away a Fridgidaire Reusable Bag containing some coupons and freebies I gathered at yesterday’s show – including the cute mirror and brush set I got from Majic 100 – to one lucky House Mate! Here’s how you can win:
