Time for a little dirty talk here at Canadian Blog House.
No I’m not talking THAT kind of dirty talk.
I’m talking incontinence.
Incontinence is such a dirty word that no one wants to talk about it.
This needs to change!
I was recently approached by a blogger friend who needed to write a post about incontinence, however, she was uncomfortable sharing it on her own blog. She suffers from incontinence problems, and has a family member who does.
This request come on the heels of my recent chat with daytime Ottawa’s host, Derick Fage, about living with incontinence problems. Derick bravely shared very intimate details about his own struggles with incontinence – on TV!
While I would have loved to see my friend talk about incontinence on her blog, I can definitely understand her reluctance to do so. Who can blame her. Despite the fact that thousands of Canadians suffer from incontinence, few people want to discuss it openly.
So I happily agreed to share my friend’s amusing look at a new product designed to help people who suffer from incontinence. You may not suffer from incontinence problems, but you likely know someone who does.
Please share this if you do.
Your Underwear Wants You to Try the TensCare Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser
Your underwear: Hey, bladder, we need to talk.
Your bladder: We do? Uh, okay. What’s up?
Your underwear: I know you don’t like to talk about it, but I need to tell you something.
Your bladder: You’re making me nervous … talk about what?
Your underwear: The leakage that’s going on these days. It affects me too, you know.
Your bladder: I’m sorry. This mild incontinence is getting more frequent, isn’t it? It’s very frustrating for me too.
Your underwear: I know, hon, I know. But we can’t just give up.
Your bladder: Well, I do buy you those very pricey incontinence liners to help keep you dry.
Your underwear: Yes, those liners are a life safer! But I’m kind of tired of them.
Your bladder: We’ve had this conversation before: I really don’t want to undergo surgery for this. There are a lot of risks to surgery, you know?
Your underwear: Yeah, I read up on the surgery options. They do have a lot of risks. I’ll with you there.
Your bladder: So, why are we having this conversation, then?
Your underwear: Because there’s a new treatment you can try.
Your bladder: Really? I didn’t know that. What is it?
Your underwear: It’s called TensCare Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser.
Your bladder: Well, I’ve tried doing pelvic floor exercises already. In fact, I still do them every day!
Your underwear: This is different. Instead of you doing the exercises, the Elise device will help through gentle stimulation.
Your bladder: Wow! This sounds awesome. How long do I use the Elise for?
Your underwear: 20 minutes a day. And for most women, two months is a long enough period to strengthen the muscles.
Your bladder: Okay, I could do that at night while I’m reading in bed. Easy-peasy!
Your underwear: So, you’re willing to give it a try?
Your bladder: Of course, I’m not happy about this situation either!
Your underwear: Great! I’ve heard from some of my buddies in England that they’ve had amazing success with the Elise. It’s pretty new in Canada. Mothers Choice Products in B.C. is distributing it now.
Your bladder: Thanks for letting me know.
Your underwear: I know you don’t like to talk about it. But, really, one in four woman deal with bladder incontinence, so it’s about time we start being a bit more open about it.
Your bladder: True. Plus, it sure will help you breathe easier!
Your underwear: Yeah, that too!
