Home renovations are on the top of many people’s “to do” lists at this time of year.  It’s winter and Canadians have been getting hit hard this year with all kinds of nasty weather.  What better way is there to spend time indoors hibernating than to work on those home renovations we’ve all been putting off for far too long? Face it, we all have some home renovations that are screaming for our attention.

Well Ottawa homeowners, you are in luck! Ottawa is set to host The Home Renovations Show, happening January 24-26, 2014 at the Ernst-Young Centre. There is no better place to get ideas, tips, tricks and information on how to go about completing those home renovations than at The Home Renovations Show.

I love home renovations shows, but my husband likes me to stay away from them. His to-do list just becomes too long.

    Rubby N.

We started a kitchen reno months ago… we wanted to take down a wall to open up the space, but after taking off the drywall we discovered what was in the wall, and have become unmotivated by the challenge. I think the home reno show would be just the place to get advice on how to proceed, and get inspired.

    • January 16, 2014

Oh Rubby that doesn’t sound good 🙁 What did you discover in the wall? A pipe that can’t be moved? Hopefully some of the folks at the show would be able to help you out (I’m sure they could). Thanks for commenting and entering!

There were 2 heating vents (we were only expecting one). So now we are trying to figure out if we should reroute them, take them out completely, keep one and split it later on, etc… Sometimes having too many options forces you too think too much and not want to commit in fear of picking the right one. Having a some experts eliminate some options and confirm others would help us feel comfortable knowing that whatever we chose to do in the end, won’t be a mistake.

Oh my gosh…sounds like a wee bit of a nightmare. Sounds like you guys should definitely be checking out this show next weekend. I bet you could get a lot of good advice about your current problem. I wish you luck and hope you can get it resolved with minimum work and cost!
