The “light bulb” moment came for Delaine Moore while she was on the table at her acupuncturist’s office. After hearing of Delaine’s impending life as a divorcée, her acupuncturist said to her:

The Secret S*x Life Of A Single Woman. It was the title that caught my eye.
Canadian author, Delaine Moore’s memoir about life after divorce is about so much more than the title would suggest, more than just the titillating tales of the bedroom escapades of a Canadian divorcée.
After the discovery that her husband of seven years is cheating on her with another woman, Delaine, a mother of 3 young children, decides the best course of action is to “suck it up” and persevere with her marriage. Delaine throws all her strength into keeping it all together for the sake of the kids, only to find things unraveling when she begins to realize that the relationship with the man she once loved, has been chipping away at her body and soul for years. Delaine finally wakes up to the realization that “the body never lies”. When you are part of an unhealthy relationship, your body, passion and desires all close down. It’s called self-protection.
In the book, Delaine shares insights that many divorced women can probably relate to. Upon the dissolution of her marriage, Delaine stood strong and kept life going along as normal as possible for her children – despite feeling utterly devastated inside.

That’s right, they are turning Delaine’s book into a movie! And guess what? True Blood’s Ashley Jones will be playing Delaine in the movie. It’s a dream come true for Delaine!
For those concerned that The Secret S*x Life Of A Single Mom may be a little too racy for the mom in you, I say, step outside your “Momma” box. Fill the tub with hot water and bubbles, sit back, relax, and enjoy this book. Maybe you’ll rediscover your own womanhood again. While this book does touch on a number of “taboo” topics, it is neither pornographic, nor lewd. I enjoyed this book from start to finish, and will proudly display it on my bookshelf for years to come.
