Reliving My Passion For Fashion Over At Obsessory

As a teenager in the 80’s, I was all about fashion.

I had a huge passion for fashion.

Music, dying my hair in various colours and patterns, and worrying about how to spike my hair to an extreme height, were big obsessions for me back then – fashion was where it was at.

I was a teenager at the height of the second British (music) invasion.

At that time, I lived and breathed British new wave/punk music and fashion. I was obsessed with all the “hot” British musicians (I’m looking at you Duran Duran!).

I really, really wanted to have a British accent, and longed to visit Great Britain.

To this day, I still love music, British bands…and still long to visit Great Britain.

But, thankfully, I no longer dye – or spike – my hair…or wear black from head-to-toe.

My fashion sense? With a nod to the band Right Said Fred, I stopped doing “my little turn on the catwalk” and left my passion for fashion behind in the early 90’s.

But not before I went through one last fashion phase – flower patterns and jumpsuits. Ugh!
